I'm looking for a cloud of magpies to descent from the sky with their thieving beaks, as a decent amount of good luck appears to have congregated in one place at one time and hasn't turned out to be a false dawn full of shite...

As I've mentioned, I have been working a pretty cushy job at Manchester Council, it's been great generally and a massive boost to my confidence.

On Monday, I moved from Chorlton (which for those who don't know, is the cool twentysomething hang out suburb of Manchester) to the city centre for an extra couple of days. Which was nice!

Then the couple of days took an odd turn, I've been offered another job for 3 months (albeit part time but since we're living at my parents not too bad a thing.) Like the original temp job, it features many things that seem almost unrealistically good.

For instance, they insisted I go in every day but they asked me to pick my own 3 and a half hours of the day, so 12.30-4 it is then! A nice sleep in and avoiding rush hour neatly.

They also gave me a leaving present of a Creme Egg Easter Egg and mug and bought everyone a chippy lunch on the last day!

Coincidentally [livejournal.com profile] thelma_viaduct has also got a job with the council although she cynically thinks it will be wrestled from her grasp before her first day tomorrow! I hope not though.

Oh and I took a Mystery Shopping Assignment as I thought I might need the cash from that too!

It finally seems that things are coming together a bit and we can save for the CELTA course and travelling itself. It's taken a while, a lot of tetch, a bit of bloodloss and a lot of tedium and lies but it seems to be on track (a little, fingers crossed, probably...)

Even my five a side football team won tonight (ok, the other team didn't turn up but that's not the point, 10-0 is 10-0!)

2 Leeds Festival tickets!

Not the best line up at the moment but if this is farewell Britain pretty soon, this is the way I want to leave, having a good time with my friends rather than skulking bitterly towards the exit with a chip the size of China upon my shoulder!

Deftones, Radiohead, The Prodigy, Gallows and Ian Brown are the biggest draws for me so far but much better than that sack of shit that is Glastonbury this year.

I know I like a lot of rock/punk and metal but the problem with festivals that exclusively deal with these bands are the presence of the excrement purveyors of those genres!

I wonder if my sister will fall for the worst excuse of a tout site I have ever seen. This is the sister with a Masters, good lord..!
