I've seen two bands live in the past couple of days, both were utterly blinding gigs, Jeffrey Lewis:

and Gallows:

Two completely different bands, crowds and musical styles but I'm glad I can participate in and love a 'strumming your chin, nodding along' concert as well as a 'mental moshpit' live show!

Thinking about this, I've recently spoken to a couple of mates who have said that they "don't enjoy" live music, surely this is what music is all about?! What do you reckon? Anyone else not bothered by live music? Did you used to not be interested and were then converted by someone you saw by chance?

I was in work today and the subject of my Mum's depression came up (I do work with social workers so it's not that an unusual event!) Sharon said to me that I should consider getting my Dad to obtain a low level carer's Allowance for the over 65's as my Mum needs looking after, particularly where decisionmaking is concerned.

Given that we are pretty well off, is this an abuse of the system or is the £50 a week adequate compensation for the problems caused by my Mum being lethargic, having paranoid episodes and being devoid of commonsense which my Dad, who is now of pensionable age, has to deal with every day?

The more I wonder, the more I think, "It's a bit of both!" especially when you consider other people's disabilities and impairments. Still, my Dad seems interested..!
