Notimeforatitle..!
Sep. 2nd, 2013 09:39 pmI do actually plan to write here, you know. I type stuff and edit it ready and don't put it up, I looked at notes I put down about a weekend a few weeks back, I glanced at the calendar to see what weekend it corresponded with and it was 8 FUCKING WEEKS AGO!
So, the last real life post was back then, pretty much, that's absolutely astonishing. Although to be fair, there's a good chance of there being loads more posts as after the blur of festivals and weddings and Stag Do's, over the past 2 months, we are now fucking skint! There's always a downer after the upper...
If you were wondering, Neil and Katie's Best Man's speech appeared to go down well, the props (earmuffs and an Arsenal shirt gags went down well, while also eating some time up so I spent less time speaking nervously to a crowd!) Good tactics! Their party was a good piss up too, I'm not sure what the hotel thought, as a bunch of people danced to The Shamen's blatant ecstasy anthem 'Ebeneezer Goode' into the early hours and until the details became hazy!
This Friday, we had 2 weddings on the same day (Paul and Kerry plus Jane and Damien), in different towns..! Hopefully that's the last time that type of ridiculous clash happens and we have to drive from Manchester to a deserted racecourse at 11PM at night!
The more weddings I go to, the more I'm happy that we did things our way, venue and music-wise! How many wedding parties happen at nightclubs that fund charities feature music like Gallows, The Menzingers and Scroobius Pip alongside stuff like Carly Rae Jepsen, One Direction and Taylor Swift?! True, we don't have many elderly relatives to accommodate (and our families that are still about just want us to have a good time!) I feel incredibly lucky about this. Despite their faults, me and Toni both come from families that let us 'be ourselves' and there's a lot to be said for that.
Speaking of doing your own thing, I bloody love this, a Japanese Metal band covering The Prodigy (superbly):

It's fair to say I'm obsessed with this currently!
If the quality of writing appears a little slack, blame Angel my cat, who leapt on my face at 5AM and I couldn't get back to sleep, gah! BAD KITTEH!
