Back On Two Feet..!
Apr. 9th, 2015 04:12 pm4 weeks to the hour since my operation and I had my second physiotherapy appointment today, with a lady called Danielle rather than a Geordie fella called Tim and unlike last time, with notes on my operation viewable by her, rather than him having to waste lots of time scouring and relying on me to tell him what happened!
Anyway, she said that my leg was "really strong"! after testing its' strength against her. She then introduced me to a couple more exercises that involve tethering myself to the front room table as resistance and another where my right leg is across my left leg, which stretches the groin to where you feel it but it's not painful.
So far, so good! I spoke to her about whether I should extend my sick note as I walk to work but she said that it wasn't really necessary (unless it begins to hurt when I begin to walk without crutches over the next fortnight), so we'll see.
My Dad gave me a lift to the Doctors today and the prescription I asked for last week for the Codeine and the laxatives needed (because of the painkillers!) hasn't gone through, so I'll walk there (how nice it is to have my freedom back!) tomorrow to collect them.
There's also injections to thin my blood but I blagged an appointment at 5.10 today to talk to a Doctor about whether that needs to be renewed, as I'm going to be mobile, blood clots are highly unlikely and it seems like a waste of money and resources to me!
There's still another 2 weeks to go, I've got my full compliment of holiday if I fancy a few more days off after that too!
The plan is to finish reading my 115,000 word Nanowrimo during this week and to go for it over the final fortnight laying ahead of me (along with any other life admin I've got lying around.)
Overall, I'm feeling very optimistic and happy!
