Yeah, so it appears that EVERYTHING has taken the backseat in recent weeks! Swinton have picked up two home wins on the bounce, over Oldham on Easter Monday (which was after the paper's deadline so I could enjoy a rare home game with a beer or two in hand!) and this one, over Workington, which lifts us up to the stellar heights of 11th out of 12th in the league table! Gadzooks!

Here's the report:

SwintonVsWorkingtonCLeagueWeekly2016 )

An interesting post-note to this game, midway through, I discovered that one of the players (namely Josh Barlow!) contacted me on Facebook messenger about the rating out of 10 I gave him the week before!

As we aren't Facebook friends, it appeared in the messages you don't get notified about, thinking about it, I should get back to him, ha! Lunacy.

You know when the modern world moves on and something superfluous hangs around, even though it isn't wanted or necessary? Like the concept of ties, comedian Lenny Henry or people writing cheques, in this day and age... That is what I feel like about job applications.

What a bag of septic bollocks they are. I know how good I would be at the job, if you are applying in-house, THEY will have a bloody good idea too and with CVs able to be electronically uploaded, why the hell do you have to list MANUALLY your GCSE qualification in cooking from nearly two decades ago?

I have a conspiracy theory, they don't improve this pisspoor state of affairs, to keep the unemployed busy. Make the jobless fill their days, otherwise they will spend more time drinking cider made out of ethanol in the park, appearing on Jeremy Kyle or other talk shows and making more fucking kids.

It sounds like something tax evasion-raised PM David Cameron - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-35974459 - would plot and think, the closest he is likely to come to the jobless was if one was shot if they got on his lawn one morning.

I digress, the logic of keeping those without gainful employment busy probably makes sense to them but it doesn't extend to thinking about those who wish to move jobs, who have one already. If (you're lucky) you work 7 hours a day, sleep another 7 and travel there and back in around an hour, that gives you 8 hours to live the ENTIRE rest of your life.

If a job application takes 3 hours, if you take out eating, you know, speaking to your partner/housemate(s), your kids/pet might want some attention too, any social life you may have, you've not got much time left, you get what I'm saying.

Come on job market, get to the point, if you can't sell yourself in over a page, that is the person's fault or YOUR job advert is full of waffle and piffle; sort it out, NOW.
