Yeah, so I have had a few very good weekends recently, this was the one around the 25th of March I believe...

I could be incredibly indolent and just say they are already documented here:

or here:

But I will try and persist with some kind of narrative of my own! I had no booze on a Friday for change thanks to a stupidly early (9AM) Saturday driving lesson. Grrr. I am set to be unleashed on the roads of Manchester, not just the backstreets. There is an accident waiting to happen...

For the second gig of the "Out of the Wilderness Tour 2006" on the Saturday I felt not as much need to do such shameless promotion as previously as Taz assured me that he made and distributed loads of flyers. That turned out to be a lie. Luckily I had corralled enough people into coming that we filled a rather empty pub.

Joe met me having drank 9 Stellas and some wine and having eaten a takeout curry, it was 6 in the evening. He was at his abrasive, offensive best! We turned up at the Crescent and were met by a probably bemused Toni and Sarah. Lots of improbable conversation probably followed. I remember Taz texting me to say he was waiting for me so he could start! That's probably the only time a band will wait for me to come to the gig! Hehe!

Ste started shouting at the TV and specifically Martin Offiah and his desertion of rugby league for ballroom dancing, I remember Sarah chasing me into the toilet cubicle and cornering me over some wisecrack or other I might (definitely) said and then largely ignoring the gig chatting to Toni and Ste instead.

We ended up in the Late Room where we were joined by stalker Andy, I think a good night was had by all ;]! Then there is a lot of blurry memories of messing around in the pool till 7AM (?!) and being a bit knackered by then. It is the first proper pool all nighter! Though it has been close on other occasions, notably my sister's birthday, where me and Ste had a bottle and port and Bailey's amongst other things between us!

In the morning, Sarah and Toni found out that it is better to ask me things directly...!

Even though it was Mother's Day I didn't actually let my old girl till 1.30PMish, when I presented her with Celebrations and... nothing else thanks to the postal service. It turned up on Monday and she complained as it was an Oxfam present for African kids since they (unlike my Mum!) actually might use my presents. She wasn't happy with this logic and proceeded to ask how much I spent! Bah!

After showing our exquisite local bus stop to my lovely guests I rushed off to Leigh via Leigh KFC (which is slower than hell, by the way and full of people with lopsided foreheads) fully expecting Swinton to get twatted... which they managed to not do and instead beat a professional side. Being a Lions fan never gets boring!

There was also entertainment derived from watching a guy near us who had deluded himself that he was in fact the Leigh coach and spent all game wildly gesticulating at the players for no reason!

The flag made its' first away trip and loved it! It was on the terraces behind the sticks with the 5 or so people loopy enough to stand in the uncovered bit as it pissed it down and Wayne English beat Martin Moana and Andy Saywell to Ian Watson's grubber kick to urinate on Leythers' hearts!

It was too much to not celebrate and a few beers after the report was filed were necessary! I collapsed into bed! Fantastic!
