A Season To Be Optimistic About..!
Feb. 7th, 2011 09:49 pmSo, just to give a heads up to the newbies, I'm also a freelance rugby league Journalist and this is where I choose to store my work in case my hard drives all fail!
I write for a National Rugby League paper called 'League Weekly', do the live score updates for the Press Association and the local paper report for the Salford Advertiser. Even though I don't live in the district anymore (my Dad kindly collects the clippings for me!)
All the reports are of my chosen club, Swinton Lions RLFC and all reports are behind a LJ cut so that those who don't want to see them don't have to! If you do read them, feel free to comment about them but I'm used to them being the least commented on things that I post! Except by the now sadly departed
drunkendeadcat anyway!
In the close season, we've moved closer to our hometown, although are now sharing with our local rivals, Salford City Reds at their Willows ground which is due to be demolished come the end of the season.
However, on the pitch, the squad looks good and signings like Widnes Captain Mark Smith point to an improvement, I personally reckon that we might win Championship 1... and I never predict that we will do that!
Here's the League Weekly report:
