Rats, Cats But No Bats..!
Mar. 7th, 2013 02:38 amToday has been the first day I've had to relax since the birthday shenanigans, to reply to nice Facebook and Livejournal messages, a night on the internet I seem to enjoy more than TV, is that odd?
That's not to say the TV hasn't been on, has anyone seen the BBC3 Series based around the Harpurhey district of Manchester called 'People Like Us'? Harpurhey is one of Europe's most deprived areas (and UKIP think all foreigners desperately want to come here!? More on that later...) Anyone seen it?
The cats, or to give them their names, 'Angel' (the dying one) and 'Blue' (the Fluffy one!) are settling in better day by day, on Tuesday they lurked in the storage cupboard all day and annoyed the fuck out of us by meowing most of the night!
By contrast, hopefully tonight they won't rouse from their respective slumbers on a pair of diagonally opposite cushions on the L-shaped sofa! Awwwwww, how cute!
It was a great episode of the Channel 4 news tonight, if politics in the UK was always this fiery, maybe more people would be bothered! Firstly, Hugo Chavez - RIP (who was absolutely heroic, Nationalising the Venezualan oil industry and using money to get the poorest out of poverty!) debated by George Galloway and a US Republican (who stated it as taking money off the richest to give to the poorest and hence awful!) He then quoted Margaret Thatcher, oops!
This was followed by a piece on immigration into a small Welsh village, they interviewed a Polish woman who started a business from scratch and various Poles toiling on minimum wage.
More importantly, they talked to some Welsh locals, who basically said that they were sometimes 'ignorant' (which no Welshman EVER is!) and a Welsh lad who said that many locals (now unemployed) started at the factory and then quit as they didn't like the wages or "having to get up in the morning" - THIS is what UKIP don't want you to see!
Foreigners are taking British jobs, as locals with as many qualifications as them don't want to work in the jobs. I'm having an epic battle about this on Twitter with a UKIP nut, it's great to debate this issue!
On a lighter note, how utterly mental is this?

Imagine the above was happening in London?!
And I now love the Joy Formidable, here's a link:

Enjoy! Bed for me now! Since it's 2.30AM in Manchester and all that..!
