So, we put our cat Blue (aka tetchcat, aka twatcat aka Lady Floofingtons) to sleep today:



I've got a lot to thank her for, having grown up in a house free of all pets apart from fish, she showed to me that cats and dogs are more than simply animals, they have individual personalities and that's what I am saddest to lose.

Thousands of cats probably had as fur as phenomenally soft as her's and a face as disgruntled looking as her's but Blue was a one-off, while her sister was placid and sweet natured, Blue had an aura of not giving a fuck and as a result, a habit of garnering attention.

She would fight cats half her age (and win!) but couldn't hunt anything, she delayed us going to Glastonbury Festival once by 2 hours, as she went outside in the middle of the night then decided to hide just out of reach until she was satisfied, she would pile into the bed and burrow under Toni's pyjamas to snooze on her stomach, if something displeased her, she would give a well-defined haughty sniff!

But she also had a caring side, she would lick tears away, if you were crying, come and rest on you if you were down and seemed to recognise that Travis was only a baby, when she could have easily scratched him for his infant behaviour with her, dozens and dozens of times.

She was an amazing cat, I miss her and Me and Toni have cried a lot of tears today.

It's about 12.30AM over here in Manchester, England... I am the genetics behind why our Son can't sleep! Most normal people on a weeknight are sensible and go to bed before midnight, me? I'm watching the fourth quarter of the Thanksgiving NFL game live, as I know I can function pretty well on not that much rest and I had a full 8 hours last night, thanks to Toni's Mum looking after Travis.

Having said that, I've had a productive night, I've bought the cat a Christmas present (yes, really!), I've got my Counselling client notes up to date and I've purchased enough of my favourite beer to last me through the Christmas period..!*

*Although Toni has also got me a Christmas Beer Advent Calendar too, so December is looking grand!

What I meant to come and say, before all these jumbled thoughts from the top of my head hijacked it is... Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans on my LJ-list! Hope you have seen family and/or friends then eaten, drank and watched all the NFL you can stand today!
